Washington Mystics Girls Night Out
January 27, 2008.. "The Fantasy Foot Ball"
South LA Fashion Examiner
On Sunday I had the pleasure of attending The Second Annual "Fantasy Foot Ball," presented by Nail Taxi. The event is limited to 200 guests and sold out for the second year in a row. Organizer and Nail Taxi owner Cinnamon Bowser explained that the event is always the Sunday before the Super Bowl because it's a day when not much else is going on...so why not shop for shoes? "A pair of shoes can change your life," she laughingly explained to me. And I think I'd have to agree, especially when they're as fabulous as the ones on display from Gigi Favela (right) and JuliaBella's Comme il Faut line. But it wasn't all about shoes...
I picked up a gorgeous (and ginormous) black enamel ring with rhinestones from Diva Style...and it was only $35! Owner Lori Carroll's table (left) was chock full of fabulous gems and sassy
accessories, all at great price points. How great is that? Also there were Andrea D'Ambrosia, who makes the coolest necklaces out of polished lava rock; Bailey Handbags, which are lighter than air and have therapeutic magnets in the straps; and Artistic Aya, who just launched a line of organic body scrubs - yum!
And if you live in the DC area and missed this event, fear not! Cinnamon's gearing up to throw a second Fantasy Foot Ball in August, to coincide with the launching of the actual Fantasy Football league (yeah, I think that's quite hilarious, too). She hopes to expand to other cities where there are Nail Taxi services, including Chicago and Atlanta. And when she does, you'll hear it here first! You know I love ya...
